Dr Chan completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney in 2002, following a Bachelor degree in Medical Science.  She was awarded her FRACS in General Surgery in 2010. She completed her Masters of Surgery by Research at the University of Sydney in 2013, investigating the genetic mutations in breast Phyllodes tumours. She completed her surgical fellowship in Singapore’s Tan Tock Seng Hospital. 

Dr Chan was Surgical Superintendent at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney for 2 years until 2014, and works as a consultant breast surgeon at Strathfield Private Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital, The Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and Breastscreen NSW at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

She is Surgical Supervisor for the Registrar and Resident Medical Office at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse. She was Faculty Member and Lecturer at the Australian School of Medical Imaging (ASMI) in Breast Ultrasound.
