Professor Ulrich Stock
Professional Bio
Prof Ulrich Stock, MD, FRCS (Cth), FRACS, is a cardiothoracic and transplant surgeon. A native of Germany he studied medicine at medical schools in Bonn (Germany), Innsbruck (Austria), Marburg (Germany) and Zuerich (Switzerland). Following his surgical training in Hamburg, Kiel and Hannover he did a three years Research Fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA. Returning to Germany he finished his training at the University Hospital Jena and established a research laboratory for cardiovascular Tissue Engineering. After a three years appointment at the Charité University Hospital in Berlin he hold Faculty positions at the University Hospitals in Tuebingen, and Frankfurt (Germany) In 2017 he joined the Cardiothoracic and Transplant Surgery Team in Harefield/UK team. In 2024 he moved to WA to head the Cardiothoracic and Transplant Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. He received numerous funding from the German Research Council, European Community and a variety of Foundations and published more than 130 manuscripts.
