I am a SET 5 general surgery trainee who is excited to be working towards becoming a generalist general surgeon with an amalgamation of Upper GI/HPB/transplant/ acute surgical and complex endoscopy experience. I hope to gain the deployable technical skills and experience that will enable me to contribute to rural and remote locations, countries in need and in austere situations that need medical services, along with working as an educator for the newer generation of surgical aspirants. I like to remind the next generation it is a glass floor not a ceiling. It is a perceived barrier to keep others on the out however, never out of reach. In my free time I like to read fiction, travel, learn how to fly a small aircraft and watch anime.
