Associate Professor Richard Lewandowski Richard obtained an MBBS from UQ in 1981 and FRACS in both general surgery (1990) and plastic and reconstructive surgery (1993). He was awarded a graduate diploma in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery (USA) in 1995. On returning to Australia he founded Operation Smile Australia for which he received a Queensland Great Award in 2004. He remains the chair of its board. He was awarded an MPhil in Psychology (UQ) in 2023. He is a plastic surgeon at Mater, Queensland Children’s and Gold Coast Hospitals, and an Associate Professor, at the School of Medicine, University of Queensland.
