Dr Nasya Thompson is a non-training cardiothoracic registrar based in Christchurch, New Zealand. She whakapapas to Ngāti Raukawa and has a strong academic and clinical interest in surgical outcomes, health equity, and improving patient-centred care. Nasya has contributed to multiple national and international research projects across an array of surgical specialities. She is currently undertaking a PhD through the University of Otago, Christchurch, examining the impact of major cancer diagnoses on patients and their whānau. Her work focuses on translating research into practical improvements within surgical services.
