Professional Bio
Owen Ung is the Mayne Professor and Head, Mayne Academy of Surgery at The University of Queensland Medical School. He is Director of the Metro North Comprehensive Breast Cancer Institute (CBCI) and Breast Reconstruction Program lead at the Herston Biofabrication Institute (HBI). Professor Ung’s professional representations include President Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), immediate past President of Breast Surgery International (BSI) and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD). He is a breast and endocrine surgeon with clinical affiliations to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and the Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Professor Owen Ung is a committed clinician, researcher and educator. He has obtained extensive administrative and management experience through his various clinical leadership roles and representations at numerous state, national and international levels. He has over 100 peer reviewed publications and is a lead investigator for a number of significant trials of international significance.
