Dr Bethany O’Neill is a Senior Resident Medical Officer at Westmead Hospital, pursuing a career in General Surgery, in particular Breast Surgery. She graduated from The University of Sydney in 2023 with a Doctor of Medicine. Her previous research has involved designing a transcutaneous inductive link for an implantable neuroprosthesis in association with Cochlear Ltd, for which she received the University of Sydney Runner-up Prize in Professional Communication in 2019. She also researched and tested new oral antibiotics to treat multi-drug-resistant urinary-tract-infections in association with Westmead Hospital, which was published in the Journal of Global Antimicrobial Resistance in 2025.
