Dr. Asim Shabbir serves as the Group Chief of Surgery at the National University Health System (NUHS), Singapore, and Head of the Department of Surgery at National University Hospital (NUH). He plays a pivotal role in strategic planning, clinical governance, and multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring the highest standards of surgical care and patient safety across multiple institutions. Newly elected in Oct 2025 as the President of Endoscopic & Laparascopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) and also President-Elect for Asia-Pacific Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Society (APMBSS). Past President of the IFSO Asia-Pacific Chapter from 2019-2025.
